Time: 8:15. No major glitches. It took a while for the AMEN corner to fill, and at first I wanted xxxxxCODE-DNA for "Beginnning of Lincoln address"-"Genetic material." Finished w/o seeing the theme; saw it easily enough afterward and got a pleasant image of an inside-the-park home run. Brought back dim memories of a Yankees games I went to many years ago against the Senators IIRC in which Yankees pitcher Mel Stottlemyre hit a grand slam inside the park home run to win it for the home team 5-4...ya could look it up. [Courtesy of the magic of the internets, I just did...it was actually against the Red Sox, on July 20, 1965, and the Yanks won the game 6-3...believe I was there as part of a Cub Scout group...hard to look that up.]
CrossWorld buzz: Good. A pretty thematic progression; a very familiar theme but nicely done. Nice down fill like EGOMANIA, MACKEREL, STELLAR, and ANOMALY. Not too much junk in the little stuff. A little ups to BIG UPS. Not a lot of black squares at 36, but 78 words is a lot for a Wednesday. Like the field of dreams to be opening up a bit more by mid-week, personally. Not a big deal.
CrossOver buzz: Very good. Slower solvers are likely to run across the SWING-HIT-RUN-SLIDE-SCORE theme that speedsters may miss. The mod convention that you use a reveal is not likely to weigh on casual solvers in the way it may for some CWers.
