Constructor: Peter Broda
Time: 8:03. Got incorrect at 7:16; problem was JAM-MUNG for JAR-RUNG. What w/ SEX SHOP, OBSCENE, STONED, and EXHALE, maybe I shoulda tried JAB-BUNG. Briefly wanted AETNA for "Allstate competitor", REKNIT for "Bring under control", and JPEG for MPEG.
CrossWorld buzz: Excellent. A visually appealing, vivid, novel theme w/ a nice reveal. For those of us old enough to remember the transition from the old roll over the bar style to the Fosbury Flop, HIGH JUMP is a particularly nice "belly up" answer. Good implicit theme of semi-smutty stuff as noted above...that implicit theme complements the belly up theme nicely. Especially like HELLA crossing GO BELLY UP in the center. Lotta words at 78 w/ 36B, but the threes are decent...LAY adds to the semi-dirty implicit theme...also, there are none of the 3 x 3 boxes that I dislike in this one. V. good crunch w/ fill like NEXT GEN, X-AXIS, BO KNOWS, and RED BULL. Gotta start using HELLA insteada helluva if I wanna bring MR-speak forward from the Damon Runyon era to the 21st century...[missed DEB and REX at 10D and 21D...shout-outs to James Russell Lowell and jberg for pointing out the shout-outs]
CrossOver buzz: Also excellent. Pay the man...nice job, Peter Broda.
