Time: 10:55. Hit done at 9:06; had a screw-up in the NW w/ OPEN PAGE instead of OP-ED PAGE. Before that, VIGIL-AGAZE was a slow spot; wanted ADAZE or AMAZE. Solver dumbness issues; nothing to get righteous about.
CrossWorld buzz: Hmmm...this is a high variance puzz. I come out at average. I like gimmicks, and I'm impressed by the quad pangram. Plenty of the fill is nice--KARL MARX, JONQUILS, KUMQUATS, etc...what Rex said. But the puzz is all fill, which is not so nice. The combination of a basic 78-word grid with no long answers and no theme leaves me feeling kinda unsatisfied.
CrossOver buzz. Below average. Casual solvers will miss a theme, methinks, just as many of us denizens will, and will not I think be overly turned on by the gimmick. Stacks are a gimmick that I think turns on real people--a multiple pangram doesn't create a pretty grid and does not stir the solver soul as stacks do.
