Constructor: Mike Buckley
Time: 6:58. A smooth and pleasant solve. Wanted the ballerinas to be LIGHT something, which meant the kind of mint was gonna be AFGHAN something...soon enough that mini-snafu resolved and the rest yielded. Admit to a personal bias in favor of this puzzle's theme...many years ago Gene Maleska suggested in a letter that I do a Wayne's World puzz...unfortunately he got sick and I never did it.
CrossWorld buzz: Excellent. Party on! A lively reveal w/ nice thematic density and v. pleasant associations. Getting in the political sense of party w/ GREEN TEA and the blue Green Party and the red Tea Party was v. nice. Tech nice--a basic 78 with sharp long fill--yes to CANAL ZONE, LITHESOME, GERSHWIN, PHANTOMS, USS WASP, NUTCAKE, DAY SPA, and OEUVRE! Raise the excellent to superb if one is aware of Mike Buckley and his kinda controversial recent all Ts TH puzz...this v. smooth T shows v. impressive versatility by MB.
CrossOver Buzz: Very good. Sometimes what works great for the cognoscenti also works very well for the peeps. This is one of those times. Slightly lower rating only b/c the doubled-up theme that is second nature for CWP people is kinda nitty for real people.
